Sanchez is younger than both Belgian defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, and his World Cup exploits with Colombia could be having an impact on his form, struggling to maintain last season’s levels.
Supporters were not impressed with the defender, with calls for manager Mauricio Pochettino to tear into him after his display.
