Davinson Sanchez returned to the Tottenham Hotspur starting line up earlier this month at the perfect time.
Sanchez’s return coincided with Jan Vertonghen’s injury.
He started against Cardiff last night, but was far from at his best.
The £42 million signing from Ajax is fortunate he has Toby Alderweireld playing alongside him.
In the first half he was caught in possession and on a couple of occasions his positioning was cause for worry.
Sanchez did not win a single tackle or make an interception, which perhaps partly spoke for Tottenham’s total dominance of their opponents.

Spurs won the game 3-0, and Sanchez can be pleased he helped the team keep a clean sheet.
Yet there is a feeling that he is capable of better, having shown how good he can be early last season.
