Early on Thursday morning, Tottenham defender Danny Rose became the latest player to tie himself down to the club by penning a new five-year contract.

It has been a meteoric rise for the former Leeds United youngster who had a difficult start to his Spurs career following a series of poor performances under previous managers Harry Redknapp, Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood.

But it is Mauricio Pochettino who has been able to get the best out of the 26-year-old, developing him into one of Spurs’ most consistent performers with Rose even becoming England’s first-choice left-back at Euro 2016.

The full-back has developed into a fan favourite at White Hart Lane for his all-action displays and committed approach to defending, and is now seen as one of the club’s most reliable performers.

As Tottenham announced to the world Rose’s new deal, fans took to Twitter to respond and the reaction from the White Hart Lane faithful was overwhelmingly positive.
