Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-1 at Wembley on Wednesday to end their Champions League campaign.

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are ruing Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to start Ben Davies ahead of Danny Rose against Juventus.
Davies’ positioning for the Italians’ second goal – which dumped Tottenham out of the Champions League – was questionable to say the least, allowing Paulo Dybala to race through with only goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to beat.

The Welshman has however been one of Spurs’s most consistent performers this season, keeping fit again Danny Rose out of the team more often than not.
Further injury problems have restricted Rose – who was Tottenham’s first choice left-back before he was struck down midway through last season – to just three appearances since Boxing Day, all of which came against lower league opponents in the FA Cup.

Nevertheless, there are plenty who would have rather seen the 27-year-old called for Wednesday’s last-16 tie…
Tottenham had taken a first half lead against Juventus, with Son Heung-min on target, but quickfire goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Dybala ensured a somewhat smash-and-grab win for the visitors at Wembley.
