Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly open to selling Danny Rose as they close in on agreeing a five-year deal with Ben Davies.

A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail over the weekend claiming that Ben Davies is closing in on signing a new five-year deal this summer.
While Spurs had another impressive year, Davies may have gone into this summer feeling that he has a point to prove once again after arguably not enjoying his best campaign.
He made just 20 starts in the Premier League, and looked to be in danger of beginning the new campaign as Danny Rose’s understudy after the Englishman enjoyed a stunning return to form during the latter stages of the season.
However, it appears that Mauricio Pochettino may see the situation differently. The Daily Mail reported that Rose is one of the players that Tottenham could be open to selling as the club look to raise additional funds following their stadium move and the signing of Tanguy Ndombele.

And the report added that Davies is close to signing a new long-term deal with the Champions League finalists. The report has, unsurprisingly, attracted a lot of attention from the Spurs fans on social media.
There are plenty of supporters who believe that Davies deserves a new contract. He may not be one of Tottenham’s headline-grabbers, but many feel that he rarely lets the side down, and his versatility makes him a fantastic option to have in the squad.

Only a handful of fans appear to have a problem with Davies getting a new contract. For many however, the more baffling aspect of the report is the decision to make Rose available.
Here is how the fans reacted to the reports…
