Are Tottenham fans worried about Arsenal signing Alexandre Lacazette?

Arsenal have smashed their transfer record to sign Alexandre Lacazette, announcing the £52 million move on the club’s official website.

The move comes despite the club finishing in fifth placed last season and being unable to offer Champions League for the first time since Arsene Wenger took over in 1997.

Lacazette last season played in the Europa League for Lyon, leading them to the semi-finals, scoring 37 goals in all competitions along the way.

Tottenham finished above Arsenal for the first time this season since 1995, a development which was supposed to signal a long awaited power shift.

Arsenal’s message through signing Lacazette is that they are up for the fight, and determined to show that last season was a one-off.

Tottenham are yet to make any signings, and Lacazette’s £52 million transfer to Arsenal eclipses Spurs’ record spend of £30 million on Moussa Sissoko last summer, a deal which now looks embarrassing after his disappointing displays since his arrival.

Fans of Spurs have been reacting to Arsenal’s move, and while a little frustrated that the Gunners have signed such a good player, they maintain they have a better forward in Harry Kane.
