However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men came out on top as two goals from Dele Alli – his third brace in as many games – saw Tottenham move themselves up to third and within seven points of their opponents.
While Alli will inevitably take many of the plaudits following the game, many of the Spurs fans who took to social media were quick to laud the Kenyan’s display as he and Mousa Dembele managed to keep the Blues’ own influential pairing Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante quiet.
