Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly plotting a January move for Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Several Tottenham fans appear to be keen to see Spurs make their move amid recent reports from the Daily Mirror which have suggested that Abdoulaye Doucoure is being eyed as a replacement for Victor Wanyama.

Doucoure is enjoying a brilliant season with Watford, having provided four assists in 11 Premier League appearances. The Mirror reports that he has a growing list of admirers, which include Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

But Spurs are reportedly hoping to steal a march on their rivals and make their move for £35 million-rated Doucoure in January, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to bring the 25-year-old in as Victor Wanyama’s successor.

Wanyama’s form has been much more unconvincing in recent times and he seems to have struggled to maintain his fitness over the past couple of years.

And that is potentially why a number of Spurs supporters appear to be in favour of a move for Doucoure. It is clear that several think that he would be an upgrade on the Kenya international.

After their quiet summer, beating the list of interested clubs to Doucoure’s signature would be a fantastic statement, and it would certainly be one that is likely to be popular amongst the fans given his current form for Watford.
