Tottenham fans have been taking to Twitter to praise the club following reports coming out of the Daily Mail which have suggested that Christian Eriksen is in line for a new contract with the Premier League side.

Eriksen has been one of Spurs’ most impressive players since he arrived from Ajax in 2013, and the Mail reports that he is now attracting attention from Serie A giants Juventus.

The Mail adds that the Denmark international has two years left on his £70,000 a week deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and Tottenham are now planning talks with the playmaker regarding a contract that will see his weekly wage move into six figures.

Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely well amongst a number of Spurs fans on social media, with many feeling that keeping Eriksen – who has scored six goals and provided six assists in the Premier League this term – will be vital to their chances of success in future.

Some have also suggested that Eriksen should have already been earning the amount that is reportedly set to be put on the table in the upcoming negotiations.

And given some of the figures that seem to be thrown around by some of their top four rivals during the January transfer window, it is surely difficult to argue that Eriksen could not easily demand a lot more than he currently earns.
