Tottenham supporters on Twitter are in meltdown after it was confirmed that striker Harry Kane is ruled out of action until early March.

Spurs confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that following preliminary assessments, the 25-year-old has damaged ligaments in his ankle as he is set to return to training in early March.

The news is a devastating blow for Mauricio Pochettino, who will also have to contend without Heung-min Son as he heads to the Asia Cup with South Korea.

England international Kane suffered his injury during his side’s 1-0 home defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.

One Tottenham supporter questioned whether the club’s physios should have allowed Kane to walk off the field against Manchester United stating it was ‘not right’.

While another fan felt that Kane’s injury was a ‘blessing’ because it means the cash-strapped north London club may now dip into the transfer market this month.

Here is a selection of Spurs supporters on Twitter reacting to Kane’s injury:

Over the course of the season, Kane has played 31 matches in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing six assists for his teammates along the way.

Pochettino is now expected to be without his key man for a number of crucial matches, including the second leg of the League Cup semi-final and Champions League encounters.
