The Spurs captain is set to test the salary cap of chairman Daniel Levy.
Tottenham Hotspur have been recently securing plenty of their first-team players long-term futures.
The likes of Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen have all signed new deals at the club recently and other names have been linked with signing new deals in the near future.
One such player is captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The French stopper is a key member of the Tottenham team and Spurs fans will not want to see his contract situation become perilous.

According to the Mirror there are certainly some stumbling blocks in negotiating a deal for the player. They report that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not interested in breaking his £100k-a-week salary cap to keep hold of Lloris – which may see them struggle to convince him to stay at White Hart Lane.

It is, on the one hand, a strong piece of business from Levy who is standing by his principles on the matter. However, many a Spurs fan will feel that Lloris is an exception and should be handed the deal he wants.
His current contract does not expire in 2019, so there is no panic over the situation, but the majority of Tottenham fans seem to believe that Levy should hand his captain what he wants…
