The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder didn’t make the cut for the Three Lions’ upcoming qualifiers – but some Spurs fans are pleased with the update.

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Spurs midfielder Dele Alli’s absence from the latest England squad, as confirmed by The Football Association.
The 23-year-old was not on top form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the earlier stages of the season and missed out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s contingent last time out for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
Despite slowly getting back to form, including a goalscoring performance against Everton in the Premier League last time out and teeing up Son Heung-min’s first goal in the Champions League win at Red Star, he has failed to make the cut for the games against Montenegro and Kosovo.
Here is what some Tottenham fans said on social media regarding Alli’s latest Three Lions snub – and the reaction is mostly positive:
England’s midfield picks consist of Ross Barkley, Fabian Delph, Jordan Henderson, James Maddison, Mason Mount, Declan Rice, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alli’s Tottenham teammate Harry Winks, while fellow Spurs men Danny Rose and Harry Kane are also in the squad.
Southgate’s charges host Montenegro on 14 November and play in Kosovo on 17 November, the nation sitting top of Group A and needing one more point to secure their place at Euro 2020.
