Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter after Sky Sports Italy reported Arkadiusz Milik’s price tag has been slashed by €15 million (£13.9 million).

Corriere Dello Sport had previously stated the Polish striker’s value stood at €50 million (£46.3 million).

Now, however, it seems as if Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho can get their man for €35 million (£32.4 million).

The north Londoners desperately need another out-and-out striker to compete with Harry Kane. While he’s one of Europe’s best, they need someone to deputise for him at times so the England skipper doesn’t burn out.

Spurs lost out to Aston Villa in the race for Ollie Watkins from Brentford, and only versatile forwards such as Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn can cover for Kane.

Milik scored 14 goals in all competitions for Napoli last season. The 51-cap Poland international has 48 goals in 122 games for the Italian side following a move from Ajax in 2016.

So far in this window, Tottenham have only signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart.

While they are decent additions, the need for another centre-forward is becoming desperate – especially given Kane’s injury issues in recent seasons, mainly with his ankles.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the Milik update on Twitter…
