Tottenham Hotspur attacker Heung-Min Son has continued his excellent form on the international scene by scoring a brace for South Korea against Colombia – and fans are delighted on Twitter.
The 25-year-old lasted the entire 90 minutes of South Korea’s 2-1 win over their South American opponents, that saw the versatile attacker go head-to-head with Spurs centre-back Davinson Sanchez.
It was the former Bayer Leverkusen ace who came out on top, as he gave South Korea the lead after latching on to an excellent forward pass before twisting and turning to shoot through Sanchez’s legs into the back of the net.
He doubled his tally after the half-time whistle, with a speculative effort from the edge of the area that Colombia goalkeeper Leandro Castellanos should have kept out, as the ball squirmed underneath the stopper’s hands.
Colombia gave themselves hope in the final 15 minutes as AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata scored, but it was not enough as South Korea earned an unlikely victory.
Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to Son’s performance, with many impressed by his exploits as he takes his tally to six goals for club and country this season. One fan even claimed he will be getting “two-footed in training” after embarrassing Sanchez.
