Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their disappointment after their reported pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha came to an end.

The Evening Standard report Spurs have given up after Palace put a £70 million price tag on the winger.

The fee seems excessive but Zaha has the difference between survival and relegation for Palace over the past two seasons and would be extremely hard for them to replace.

Tottenham are perhaps right not to pay the massive fee, but it is still disappointing that another top talent they have been chasing has slipped away.

Ryan Sessegnon appears to be off their shopping list after Fulham won promotion, giving the young talent increased reason to stay and his club the power to keep him.

Spurs have also reportedly abandoned their pursuit of Mattijs de Ligt, Football London reported last night.

It means three of Tottenham’s top targets are now inaccessible, leaving just Anthony Martial of their first choice potential buys… and persuading Manchester United to sell to them will be highly difficult.
