Mido is desperate to become Tottenham manager, stating it is his dream.
Mido has declared that he is desperate to return to Tottenham Hotspur as manager in an interview with Soccer AM, and Spurs fans reacted in hilarious fashion.
The 35-year-old played for Tottenham for two and a half years during his playing career, which also saw him turn out for the likes of AS Roma, Marseille, Gent, Ajax and multiple English clubs including Wigan and Middlesbrough.
Mido moved to Tottenham on loan from Roma in January 2005 on an 18-month loan, before completing a permanent move to Spurs in the summer of 2006. But he left just a year later to join Middlesbrough.
Since retiring, Mido has managed in Egypt at Zamalek on two occasions, Ismaily and Wadi Degla, but remains a big fan of Spurs and has returned to the club on multiple occasions.
He said: “I would love to manage Tottenham one day, that’s my dream – to manage in the Premier League and to manage Tottenham. I know it’s not easy but my dream is to be Tottenham manager.”
Mauricio Pochettino remains Tottenham manager, with a contract until the summer of 2023 that is worth a huge £163,000 a week (Telegraph) likely to leave the club in the near future.
Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to Mido’s comments with the majority mocking their former striker, stating that it was too far fetched for the Egyptian to become their manager.
