German giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier who remains second choice to Kieran Trippier at Spurs – and some fans have urged the north London club to cash in.

French outlet RMC Sport claim the 25-year-old defender remains on Dortmund’s shortlist this summer, with European clubs still able to buy from English clubs until August 31.

Aurier started Spurs’ first Premier League game of the season against Newcastle United on Saturday, providing an excellent assist for Dele Alli’s winner with an inch-perfect cross from deep.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain right-back still remains second choice to England international Kieran Trippier, who was being rested after helping the Three Lions reach the third-place play-off in Russia.

Ivory Coast international Aurier only joined Spurs last summer, signing a five-year deal under Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy. But he only managed 17 Premier League appearances last season.

Indeed, some Tottenham fans are keen to offload Aurier with the knowledge that academy product Kyle Walker-Peters is waiting in the wings to act as Trippier’s number two on the right side of defence.
