The Belgian has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers all season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen is reportedly set to be offered a new deal after being name din the Premier League Team of the Season for his exploits this term – and Spurs fans reacted with sheer delight.
Football London claim the 30-year-old does not have a clause for another year in his current deal, which expires at the end of next season. The Daily Star claim the Belgian is earning £100,000 a week in north London.
The Belgium international, who will face England at this summer’s World Cup in the group stages, has been one of the first names on Mauricio Pochettino’s team sheet this season as Toby Alderweireld’s involvement becomes marginalised.

His displays have been so impressive that he has earned a place in the Premier League XI of the season, alongside Tottenham teammates Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.
Spurs are known for their faith in youth, but it appears chairman Daniel Levy is ready to alter that slightly in order to offer Vertonghen a new deal in the coming months. Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news in their drones.
One fan even urged Pochettino to “make him captain” after perhaps his best season in north London since joining the club from Ajax in 2012.
