Tottenham Hotspur will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League without Ben Davies.
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment after the club confirmed on their official website that Ben Davies has not travelled to Madrid with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of their crucial Champions League clash on Tuesday.
Davies has made a sensational start to the season for Spurs, contributing two goals and two assists in the Premier League and also playing well in both of the side’s European games thus far.
His form had left many Tottenham fans suggesting that he has taken the number one left-back spot in the side from Danny Rose – who is yet to play this season due to injury.
Unfortunately however, Davies will be missing for the Champions League clash in the Bernabeu, with Tottenham’s official website confirming that he has not travelled the rest of the team due to illness.
Unsurprisingly, the news has received a negative reaction on social media, with many Spurs fans expressing their disappointment for Davies that he will not get the chance to prove himself against Real Madrid.
A number of the supporters have suggested that the Welshman deserves the chance to play against Los Blancos, and they will undoubtedly be hoping that his absence does not cost them.
