Tottenham Hotspur have been enduring a dismal start to the season, meaning Mauricio Pochettino may well be eyeing up additions in the January transfer window.
Spurs have served up some terrible performances this term, including the Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United, the 7-2 home defeat to Bayern Munich and Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Pochettino may now have to dip into the transfer market, and one area he may want to improve is his striking options, having failed to really replace Fernando Llorente this past summer.
Troy Parrott is in and around the first team, but he isn’t a big, physical target man, and that’s what Tottenham need to complement Harry Kane and Parrott.
Now, the Daily Star claim that Tottenham are interested in Red Bull Salzburg sensation Erling Braut Haaland, challenging Liverpool and Manchester United for his signature.
Haaland, 19, only joined Salzburg from Molde earlier this year, and has smashed 18 goals in 11 games this season, becoming one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe off the back of his red-hot form.

The Norwegian is a physical freak at 6ft 4in tall whilst possessing great pace, and his clinical finishing has made him a constant threat even at such a young age.
Some Spurs fans have now reacted to the rumours, with many believing that there is absolutely no chance that Tottenham will manage to sign him, either because of the interest from Liverpool, United and others, or because Daniel Levy won’t offer a good enough deal.
Others think that Haaland would be perfect as he wouldn’t stunt Parrott’s development, providing something different to the Tottenham attack, whilst believing signing him and a couple of other talents in January could solve Pochettino’s problems.
