Austria opened their Euro 2020 campaign with a 3-1 win over North Macedonia – and Tottenham fans loved what they saw from Marcel Sabitzer.
Stefan Lainer gave Austria the lead, before Goran Pandev gave North Macedonia hope of a shock point in their European Championship debut.
Michael Gregoritsch and Marko Arnautovic pounced though, giving Austria a 3-1 victory and a great start to the competition.
Sabitzer runs the show
Austria’s star man is RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, and he showed his class with an outrageous ping into the box to set up Lainer’s opener.
The 27-year-old recorded three key passes, 83 touches of the ball, one successful dribbles, three tackles and one interception as he produced an all-action display.
Sabitzer may leave Leipzig this summer, with Tottenham keen on a cut-price £12million move according to The Athletic.

Tottenham fans beg Paratici to sign Sabitzer
Unsurprisingly, Tottenham fans watched Sabitzer and were left convinced that he is the midfielder Spurs need to sign this summer.
Some believe that Sabitzer is a ‘bargain’ and could be the ‘signing of the summer’, even claiming that he is a ‘cut price Kevin De Bruyne’.
Others are begging new sporting director Fabio Paratici to make a deal happen, with his display today sending Spurs fans into overdrive.
