Tottenham Hotspur left fans disappointed once again on Sunday afternoon, drawing 2-2 away at Newcastle United.

Spurs fell behind in the first half as Joelinton scored, with the Brazilian once again finding the net against Tottenham despite struggling against pretty much everybody else.

Jose Mourinho’s men turned the game on its head in the space of four first-half minutes, with Harry Kane scoring twice to put Tottenham ahead.

Neither goal really seemed to spark Spurs into life though, and they were flat throughout, with Joe Wlllock’s late equaliser certainly deserved given how Newcastle performed.

Spurs were made to pay for not finding a third goal and killing the game off, and the draw means they failed to really capitalise on Chelsea’s shock home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

There isn’t much for Tottenham fans to shout about right now, but defender Joe Rodon did at least turn in a decent performance in the heart of the Spurs back four.

The Welshman is emerging as one of Tottenham’s most reliable defenders, and fans have been praising him on Twitter after his performance against Newcastle.

Fans called Rodon ‘magic’ and ‘excellent’, believing a poor display from centre back partner Davinson Sanchez shouldn’t distract from Rodon’s showing.

Others marvelled at how Spurs only paid £15million for Rodon, and now believe he has to be a starter moving forward.
