Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to Manchester United this afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season preparations continued this afternoon as they took on Manchester United in Shanghai this afternoon, losing 2-1.
Spurs beat Juventus on Sunday in Singapore, and moved their Asian tour on to China as they continue to gear up for the new Premier League season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell to defeat though, with Anthony Martial giving United the lead in the first half, squeezing a shot past Paulo Gazzaniga at the near post.
Lucas Moura’s deflected strike pulled Spurs level after fine footwork on the edge of the box, but United came back with another goal as Angel Gomes sealed the win.
Tottenham won’t be too disheartened, especially with the number of young players in action, and one of them was defender Japhet Tanganga.
The 20-year-old centre back impressed as a starter against Juventus on Sunday, and was given the nod once again by Pochettino this afternoon.

Tanganga caught the eye against United, even though he maybe could have read the play a little better for Martial’s first-half strike, with the Frenchman’s movement catching him out.
Fans took to Twitter to praise Tanganga’s ‘class’ display, adding that he looks ‘brilliant’ and ‘really promising’, even claiming that Spurs don’t need Arsenal new boy William Saliba, as they already have a talented young defender in their ranks in Tanganga.
