After Tottenham Hotspur’s win in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, Manchester City responded by outclassing Burton Albion in their first leg semi-final encounter.

Tottenham fans have provided mixed thoughts on Twitter after Manchester City annihilated Burton Albion 9-0 in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side showed no mercy as they dispatched the League One outfit in brutal fashion to all but seal their place in the League Cup final despite 90 minutes remaining in the encounter.
City striker Jesus struck four goals for the Manchester club, with the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Zinchenko, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez all getting on the scoresheet.
The Premier League champions will meet either Tottenham or Chelsea in the final at Wembley, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side winning the first leg encounter 1-0 on Tuesday night.
One Spurs fan on Twitter was hoping that City’s goals will have dried up by the time they reach Wembley, whilst another felt that they won’t be able to overcome the free-scoring side if they were to meet in the final.
Others had a pop at Rodney Marsh, who criticised Spurs for bringing on Harry Kane during their 7-0 win over Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup last Friday.

Many asked whether Marsh will complain about City not holding back against their weaker opponents despite holding a devastating lead.
Here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Manchester City’s comfortable win over Burton Albion in the EFL Cup:
