Tottenham Hotspur fans have hit out at Toby Alderweireld after he claimed that all the players are behind their manager Mauricio Pochettino.

On Saturday, Spurs recorded a 1-1 draw against Watford, with fans once again unhappy with the what their team is producing on the pitch.

Since the start of the summer, there has been a lot of off-field talk about the Tottenham players and what the future holds for them in North London.

All of that mess has seemingly filtered its way onto the pitch and Spurs’ performances in the Premier League, League Cup and Champions League this season.

Despite the troubles, Alderweireld insisted that his teammates are ‘fighting’, as quoted by BBC Sport – comments which haven’t sat well with the Spurs fans.

They are clearly seeing abject performances by their team and they believe the relationship, both on and off the pitch between players and the manager is playing its part in their woeful displays.

Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise to see Tottenham fans pretty angry and annoyed with what Alderweireld had to say because they want some honesty from their players.

One way the Spurs players can prove people wrong is by producing performances on the pitch, but that isn’t seemingly happening.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs supporters on Twitter reacting to Alderweireld’s comments about the players being behind Pochettino.
