Mauricio Pochettino has included his son Maurizio in Spurs’ second string squad.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has handed his son Maurizio the chance to shine in Spurs’ Under-21 squad this season – and some Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter.
The official Premier League website confirmed all 20 clubs’ Premier League squads and Under-21 sides earlier this week, which saw Maurizio Pochettino included at the tender age of 17.
Born in Barcelona while his father was playing for Espanyol, Maurizio has made six appearances for Spurs Under-18 Premier League side since joining the north Londoners in January 2015 where he was given a scholarship.
He seems to have passed that test, and has made the step up to the squad’s Under-21 side though it must be said that Mauricio’s son has less than 12 months remaining on his contract with the north Londoners.
Maurizio has a long way ahead of him if he is to burst into his father’s first team at Spurs, but at 17, being included in the Under-21 squad can only be a good sign for the young attacker.
Some Tottenham fans reacted excitedly to the news that Maurizio had been included in the club’s Under-21 squad for the 2018-19 season, with one fan Tweeting: “Better than [Fernando] Llorente, why not?”
