Liverpool managed a 2-1 win over Tottenham to keep their Premier League title challenge rolling.

The Reds benefitted from a late own goal by Toby Alderweireld, which came against the run of play.

Trent Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports he felt Liverpool’s desire to win helped them over the line.

“We got a bit fortunate but you need that to be in these types of positions and to win these games.”

Tottenham fans were not buying into Alexander-Arnold’s comments that Liverpool wanted it more.

Liverpool’s goal was lucky, and Spurs supporters felt this had more to do with the result that an idea that their players did not want to win as much as their opponents.

The loss is now Tottenham’s third away loss in succession, following defeats at Burnley and Southampton.
