Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will be fine-tuning his Spurs side ahead of their big Premier League clash against Manchester City on Saturday evening – and fans want Erik Lamela to start on the wing.

The 26-year-old, who returned from a double hip injury earlier this season after over a year on the sidelines, has featured in the last 19 Premier League games – whether that be from the start or off the bench.

However, he has been preferred to the likes of Lucas Moura, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-Min for much of the second half of the season, as Spurs look to reassure their place in the top four on Saturday.

They face a tall order in league leaders Manchester City though, who can win the Premier League as champions on Saturday with all three points against the north Londoners.

Spurs fans will be desperate not to see that happen at Wembley, and reckon starting Argentine winger Lamela will give themselves the best opportunity of doing that.

One fan believes the former AS Roma’s “pugnaciousness” is what stands him out from the rest, while another wants Lamela to go “full Chelsea away” on Kyle Walker.
