Recent reports suggest Tottenham could be about to sell Danny Rose to Manchester United.

The Sun claim Tottenham Hotspur could be about to sell Danny Rose to Manchester United in exchange for £40million and left-back Luke Shaw this summer, and Spurs fans are delighted with the proposed deal on Twitter.

Rose, 27, has been linked with a move away from Spurs for much of Mauricio Pochettino’s spell in charge, so much so that it looked like the England international would depart in the same window as Kyle Walker.

However, the former Leeds United left-back remained at Spurs, while Walker joined Manchester City. Now, he has dropped down the pecking order with Wales international Ben Davies considered first-choice above Rose.

The Sun report that Jose Mourinho’s side must offer £40million and ex-Southampton defender Shaw if they are to land Rose, despite the latter featuring just seven times in the Premier League this season.

Spurs sold Walker to Premier League champions City for a fee of £53million according to the Guardian, but with Shaw’s value, this deal could eclipse such an offer. Tottenham fans are therefore delighted with the rumour.

Chairman Daniel Levy’s reported demands prompted a fan to Tweet: “you’ve been Levyed”.
