Tottenham Hotspur have a number of players at Euro 2020, and one of them was in action last night with Hugo Lloris starting for France.
Lloris started for France as they took on Germany in Munich, with Les Bleus running out 1-0 winners thanks to a Mats Hummels own goal.
Germany only managed one shot on target, meaning Lloris didn’t have lots to do, but he still turned in a strong display, especially when he smothered the ball at Serge Gnabry’s feet.
What was said about Lloris?
Before kick off, ITV’s coverage mentioned that Lloris had a poor season with Tottenham, and a discussion was had about his form.
Now, Tottenham may have had an underwhelming campaign, but Lloris was one of few players to come out with some credit.
Lloris generally had a pretty good season, but he seems to have this reputation of being unreliable and waning as a top Premier League goalkeeper, which isn’t really the case.

Tottenham fans rally around Lloris
Tottenham fans heard this conversation and weren’t too impressed, taking to Twitter to defend their long-serving goalkeeper.
Spurs fans suggested that Lloris was actually ‘really good’ for Tottenham last term, and the idea of him being poor was news to them.
Others felt Lloris was ‘class’ for Tottenham last season, highlighting key stats to argue against ‘lazy analysis’.
