Tottenham Hotspur signed a new centre back in October as Joe Rodon arrived from Swansea City, but don’t be surprised if another defender arrives this summer.
Eric Dier has been patchy, Toby Alderweireld isn’t the player he once was, Davinson Sanchez mixes the sublime with the ridiculous and Rodon has yet to really nail down a role.
The Mirror now report that Jose Mourinho wants to bring in a new defender this summer, and he wants to sign Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard.
Spurs allegedly think they can get something of a bargain in Vestergaard, given that he is set to enter the final year of his contract at Southampton.
Tottenham raided them in similar circumstances for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg last summer, and could now reunite him with Vestergaard.
The Dane, 28, has been a key man for the Saints this season, turning in excellent performances whilst being a dominant force in the air.

Standing at a huge 6ft 6in tall, Vestergaard would bring something different to the Spurs defence, and Spurs fans seem pretty excited with the rumour.
Some feel that Vestergaard would be a bargain, believing that he is hard as nails and exactly what Spurs need.
Others are urging Tottenham to get a deal done, branding Vestergaard ‘quality’ and an upgrade on Tottenham’s current defenders.
