The 25-year-old has not played for Spurs since October, and some fans are crying foul.

The puzzling injury saga of Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela took another twist on Wednesday as it was revealed that the Argentine will miss the end of the season, as reported by multiple outlets including BBC Sport.
Lamela suffered a hip complaint all the way back in October and has not been seen since.
It was initially hoped that the 25-year-old would be fit to return after a few weeks, but instead over five months have passed with the star on the sidelines.
Now, it has been confirmed that he will need surgery to attempt to fix the issue, something which will rule him out of returning to competitive action until at least the start of next season in August.
Trying to follow the progress of Lamela’s injury and recovery has been no easy task for Spurs fans. In fact, the radio silence has been deafening.
There was talk earlier in the season that Lamela was unhappy with his club for refusing to grant him leave to undergo surgery, and that is far from the only rumour surrounding the situation.
Now, though, they at least have the certainty of not seeing the attacker in action again this season.

That has come as small comfort to many fans, however, who appeared to be bracing themselves to lose the star who scored 11 goals in a fine campaign last term.
