Erik Lamela is ineligible from featuring in Tottenham’s clash against APOEL Nicosia.

Erik Lamela is ineligible from featuring in Tottenham Hotspur’s side to face APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League on Wednesday night – and Spurs fans have bemoaned the club’s decision to leave him out of the squad.
The 25-year-old is back to full fitness after a double hip injury that saw him undergo multiple operations to correct the problem, which kept him out for more than a year after first suffering the injury in October 2016.
The Argentina international featured against Watford and Leicester in the Premier League, and would have been a cert to start against APOEL with the match meaningless to the overall standings of Group H in the Champions League.

However, Spurs decided not to name the former Roma ace in their squad to take part in the group stages at the start of the season due to his injuries, and that now means he is barred from facing the Cypriot champions.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make a number of changes to his side with match considered a dead rubber, which could see the likes of Michel Vorm, Kyle Walker-Peters, Moussa Sissoko and Georges N’Koudou start.
Spurs fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration over Spurs’ decision to leave Lamela out of the squad, with one fan stating that it would have been “ideal for him to start” against APOEL.
