Tottenham defender Kyle Walker-Peters was given his chance to impress during a rare start for the club in the Carabao Cup.

The full-back had a mixed night individually as Tottenham ran out 3-1 winners.

Walker-Peters could be forgiven some rustiness given his recent lack of game time, and he faced a tough test up against West Ham’s Michail Antonio.

Antonio looked physically superior to the Tottenham youngster and was able to outmuscle him on more than one occasion.

This uncomfortable mismatch had some Tottenham fans concerned that the 21-year-old is not regular football.

Walker-Peters is clearly a big talent, he showed this on his Premier League debut last season, and has an England under-20 World Cup winners medal to his name.

The feeling last night was that he just needs to bulk up a bit and develop physically, if he is to really become a top player and hold down a first team spot.
