Erik Lamela has started just three times for Tottenham this season.

Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate not to avoid a giant killing on Saturday evening as they face League Two minnows Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup – and fans are desperate for Erik Lamela to start.
The 25-year-old has struggled for game time since returning to the Spurs side after double hip surgery that has kept him sidelined since October 2016, returning only late in November 2017 as a substitute against Leicester City.
Making 12 appearances since overcoming his long-term injury, the 23-time Argentina international has started just three matches with one of those coming against AFC Wimbledon in the previous round of the FA Cup.

But after Michael Flynn’s Newport beat Championship heavyweights Leeds United in the third round, Spurs will be wary of a surprise result and that should tempt Mauricio Pochettino into fielding a strong side at Rodney Parade.
Spurs fans have urged Pochettino to hand Lamela just his fourth start of the season against Newport, as the north Londoners look to end their hunt for a trophy by remaining in the FA Cup.
