Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has reflected on leaving the club – and he appears to be loving a sunnier climate!
Alderweireld decided to leave Tottenham last summer having spent six years with the club.
After almost 250 appearances for Spurs, the Belgian defender swapped North London for Qatar with Al-Duhail,
Alderweireld has played eight times for Al-Duhail, and you can hardly blame him for making that move.
At 32, Alderweireld would be well within his rights to fancy a major pay day in Qatar.
Another benefit is the climate, with Alderweireld hardly having to brace himself for the usual cold Christmas in London.
Alderweireld took to Twitter to show the difference on Tuesday, basking in the Qatar heat compared to the chill of Tottenham training a year ago.

Tottenham fans send messages to Alderweireld
Tottenham fans obviously felt a little emotional seeing Alderweireld reminiscing about life at Spurs.
Some just had to tell the Belgian international how much they miss him mere months after his exit.
Others told Alderweireld to come back to Tottenham, preferably alongside Mousa Dembele.
That seems very unlikely, but Alderweireld’s legacy at Tottenham certainly hasn’t been tarnished by his departure.
