Should Tottenham make a move for former star?
Tottenham’s Harry Kane goes off injured
Harry Kane’s untimely injury leaves Tottenham short up front heading into the most crucial phase of the season.
Kane is at risk of missing the rest of the campaign, The Guardian report, leaving Tottenham relying on Vincent Janssen to score goals.
Janssen netted in yesterday’s win over Millwall, but this was the first time he had scored in open play all season.
With the transfer window closed there is not much Tottenham can do, unless they get creative and try to re-sign Dimitar Berbatov, who is currently a free agent.
This is what one Tottenham supporter suggested on BBC 5 Live 606 on Sunday night.
Berbatov is without a club after leaving Greek side PAOK earlier this season.
He played for Tottenham between 2006 and 2008, when he was controversially sold to Manchester United for £30 million after pushing for a move.
He is now 36, and a move back to North London would only be a stop gap, but it could be a chance for him to redeem himself to Spurs fans after the way he left the club nine years ago.
He played a key role in helping Tottenham win the League Cup months before he left, and Spurs are yet to win silverware since.
Would you take Berbatov back at Tottenham?
