Tottenham Hotspur have made a first move for Roma defender Roger Ibanez but their offer has been snubbed.
Roma have immediately rejected Tottenham Hotspur’s opening move for defender Roger Ibanez.
That is according to a report from Roma Giallorossa, who claim that Tottenham put a first offer on the table for Ibanez last week.
The value was €22million (£19million) and Roma immediately gave a ‘resounding no’.
The Serie A side allegedly want around €30million (£25.6million) having dropped their asking price from €35million (£30million).
Roma would even deal at €25million (£21.5million) if the money was given in cash up front.
Spurs seemingly have some way to go if they are to tempt Roma into a deal this summer.

Roger Ibanez the latest defender linked with Tottenham move
After securing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, playmaker James Maddison and winger Manor Solomon, Tottenham now seem to be focusing on a new defender.
Speculation surrounding Edmond Tapsoba, Micky van de Ven, Tosin Adarabioyo, Victor Nelsson and even Clement Lenglet is rife at the moment.
Then there is Ibanez, with Roma potentially open to selling the Brazilian this summer.
Roma have been using Ibanez on the left side of Jose Mourinho’s three-man defence despite him being right-footed.
Roma have now signed a natural left-footer in Evan Ndicka, which may make Ibanez expendable.
Tottenham are expected to sign two centre backs this summer but will clearly have to go a little higher if they want Ibanez.

Who is Roma defender Ibanez?
Ibanez was born in Brazil and emerged with Fluminense having actually started his career as a midfielder.
Ibanez became a centre back though and after showing potential with Fluminense, Atalanta pounced to sign him in 2019.
The 24-year-old remarkably played just twice for Atalanta before Roma took him on loan in 2020, eventually turning the move permanent year later.
Now a regular for Roma with nearly 150 appearances for the club, Ibanez has even earned two caps for Brazil.
A very fast centre back, Ibanez has been branded ‘untouchable’ by Mourinho and is clearly highly-rated at Roma.
Money talks though and Tottenham could yet tempt them into selling whilst Fulham and West Ham United are also keen.
