Thomas Frank may replace Antonio Conte as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur as he has worked with a fairly limited budget at Brentford. Spurs like that he seldom causes any fuss.

That is according to The Guardian, which reports that Frank is among the names to replace Conte at Tottenham. The Italian has an uncertain future in north London with his contract due to lapse in June. Spurs plan to hold talks with him next month to discuss the situation.

Expectations are rife that Conte and Tottenham will agree to part ways at the climax of his contract this summer. But doubt still lingers over who chairman Daniel Levy and managing director Fabio Paratici will agree on as the ideal option to replace the 53-year-old at Spurs.

Thomas Frank has impressed Tottenham with his results at Brentford

Brentford boss Frank features on Tottenham’s long list of potential targets should they bid to replace Conte as the club’s manager. The 49-year-old has impressed the Spurs hierarchy with his work at the Gtech Community Stadium after establishing the Bees in the top-flight.

Frank led Brentford into the Premier League for the club’s first time via the Championship play-offs in 2021. The Bees had not featured in the top-flight of English football since 1947. Yet they finished the 2021/22 term in 13th place and sit ninth in the table so far this season.

Brentford could still qualify for a European competition this season and are above Chelsea in the top-flight table. But Tottenham also appreciate that Frank has achieved lots with the Bees despite working with a fairly limited budget. He also rarely causes a fuss about funds.

Jamie O’Hara urges Spurs against the Bees boss replacing Antonio Conte

Frank’s readiness to work with what Brentford can afford stands out to Tottenham as Levy and Paratici eye potential managers to replace Conte. The Athletic has also cited the Dane amongst Spurs’ list of potential new managers. They are now keeping tabs on his situation.

Yet Jamie O’Hara does not believe Tottenham should try to prise Frank from his contract at Brentford to replace Conte. The Bees tied the tactician down until June 2027 in December.

“Frank is an absolutely fantastic manager,” O’Hara told talkSPORT (8/3, 23:25). “But I think what Tottenham need, right now, is a lift for the fans. And I think [Mauricio] Pochettino is that. I think [Frank] is a brilliant manager and I think he would do well.”
