Georginio Wijnaldum scores for Newcastle against Tottenham
Everton are the new favourites to sign Georginio Wijnaldum, leapfrogging previous favourites Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham had been Evens to sign the Dutch Newcastle United winger one week ago, but Everton are now favoured at 5/4, according to the latest odds from SkyBet.
Spurs have dropped to 3/1, while Liverpool are third favourites at 6/1.
Georginio Wijnaldum celebrates scoring his fourth in the win over Norwich
Wijnaldum was Newcastle’s top scorer last season with 11 goals from midfield, scoring four of those in one game against Norwich City.
He is likely to exit the relegated side this summer, but is yet to clinch a move.
The Mail reported earlier this week that Everton were prioritising signing the attacker, who Newcastle value as highly as £27 million.

Tottenham being no longer favourites echoes reports chairman Daniel Levy has been put off by Newcastle’s asking price.
The Mirror reported Spurs viewed £25 million as being too high, and hoped to negotiate down. Yet the price seems to have gone up, with Everton interested, while HITC Sport reported last week that Liverpool are also keen.
Everton are backed by investor Farhad Mohsiri, and have appointed Ronald Koeman as manager, but so far just three players have been signed, Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham, Bass Sambou from Coventry, and Chris Renshaw from Oldham.
