Tottenham Hotspur needed to offload a few bodies before the transfer deadline, and they’ve managed it in recent days.
Spurs have been busy bringing in players, with Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius all arriving.
Jose Mourinho had to make some room, and Tottenham have secured two loan exits for a couple of their promising youngsters.
Ryan Sessegnon was bumped down the Spurs pecking order this summer, and just over a year since joining Spurs from Fulham, he has moved on loan to Hoffenheim.
Sessegnon will spend the season with the Bundesliga side, and Spurs will hope that he can benefit from playing in Germany just like Jadon Sancho has since 2017.
Elsewhere, centre back Juan Foyth has signed a new Spurs contract but then immediately moved on loan to Villarreal for first-team football.
The Argentinian has struggled to prove himself to Jose Mourinho, and will hope to develop his game with a move to Spain.
Both Sessegnon and Foyth have now posted messages to Tottenham after leaving the club on loan, with Foyth’s message a little more emotional as he pondered whether he and Spurs would cross paths again.
There has been another Instagram post though, with teenage defender Marcel Lavinier showing a shot of himself signing his Tottenham deal.
Spurs completed the signing of 19-year-old Lavinier over the weekend following his departure from Chelsea, and he branded Tottenham a ‘very big’ club.
