Tottenham Hotspur are signing Destiny Udogie with the Udinese talent allegedly keen to work under Antonio Conte moving forward.
Tottenham opened their season with a 4-1 win over Southampton, and the importance of wing backs was clear.
Ryan Sessegnon scored and Emerson Royal picked up an assist as Conte’s 3-4-3 worked to perfection.
That’s without the two wing backs signed this summer – Ivan Perisic and Djed Spence – starting the game.
Tottenham’s wing back recruitment is over for now, but they are already looking towards the future.
Tottenham Hotspur are signing Destiny Udogie
Reports in Italy last week suggested that Tottenham were closing in on signing Udinese talent Destiny Udogie.
The deal was rumoured to be over £20million with Udogie spending the 2022-23 season back on loan with Udinese before joining up with Tottenham next summer.
Football London now report that the £22million move is indeed set for completion, with Udogie seemingly jumping at the chance.
It’s stated that Udogie had interest from other clubs but the chance to work with Conte pushed Tottenham to the front of the queue.

Additionally, Udogie likes for that Tottenham will allow him to stay with Udinese for another year to continue his development.
The report adds that key Tottenham decision-makers Conte and Fabio Paratici ultimately think Udogie will be ready for Premier League action next year.
Udogie, 19, has played in 41 Serie A games but still has plenty development to come.
A real attacking threat and a huge talent for the future, Udogie is an exciting capture for Tottenham even if fans will have to wait to see him in action.
Manchester City were also thought to be keen on Udogie, so Tottenham will be delighted to get this deal wrapped up early – in part thanks to Conte’s pulling power – and potentially secure Perisic’s long-term heir before he has even started a competitive game for the club.
