Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli wants to stay at the club and save his career under the tutelage of manager Antonio Conte.

That’s according to a report from Eurosport today, who claim that Tottenham are expecting interest in Alli very soon.

Many have expected Alli to leave Tottenham in January, but the midfielder has other ideas.

Alli allegedly realises that this is his last chance for success at Tottenham and needs to make it work.

Similarly, new boss Conte is confident that he can bring Alli back to his best.

A move to Newcastle allegedly doesn’t appeal to Alli, and he will knuckle down and attempt to thrive at Tottenham.

Can Alli really get back to his best at Tottenham?

It’s a long time since we saw Alli thrive in a Tottenham shirt.

The 25-year-old burst onto the scene in 2015 after joining Tottenham from Milton Keynes Dons.

After 46 goals in his first three seasons at Tottenham, Alli has only scored 21 times since.

Those third man runs into the box just haven’t been happening and Alli’s game with the ball at his feet hasn’t developed.

Alli also appears to have bulked up physically, which has somewhat impacted his movement.

There is still a player in Alli somewhere, and if Conte can’t save him, maybe no manager can.

Conte is known for getting the best out of players and Alli has to hope he can do the same for him.

It’s hard to see where Alli fits into this Tottenham side though, with Conte playing something of a 3-4-2-1 system.

All Alli can do is train well and take his chance when it comes – or face being on the Tottenham chopping block next summer.
