Dejan Kulusevski is recovering from injury and gave Tottenham Hotspur fans hope of an imminent return on Saturday afternoon.

Tottenham headed to the South Coast on Saturday as they faced Bournemouth.

Kieffer Moore’s brace had Bournemouth 2-0 and cruising before Tottenham woke up and turned the game on its head.

Ryan Sessegnon started the fightback before Ben Davies headed in the equaliser.

A 2-2 draw wouldn’t have been terrible given Tottenham’s situation but there was another twist as Rodrigo Bentancur popped up with a last-gasp winner for Spurs.

That fightback will have delighted Tottenham fans everywhere, especially after some tricky results of late.

It may sound crazy after a three-goal display but Tottenham’s attacking approach from open play is still looking a little flat.

Antonio Conte isn’t helped by the fact that both Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski are both out injured.

Kulusevski picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with Sweden in September and hasn’t played again since.

A return looked imminent when Kulusevski was seen in first-team training nearly three weeks ago.

Yet Kulusevski then suffered a setback and Tottenham fans have feared that they won’t see him in action before the World Cup break.

Kulusevski did make the trip to Bournemouth though and was on the pitch warming up before kick off.

Tom Allnutt from the Press Association tweeted a video of Kulusevski running half-lengths of the pitch as part of an ‘intense’ fitness session.

Tottenham teammates who were involved in the game were being put through their paces with Kulusevski working on his own in front of them.

We can’t pretend that Kulusevski looked fit and free-flowing here; he looked stiff and ultimately like a player still carrying a bit of an injury.

Kulusevski made the long trip down to the Vitality Stadium though and excited fans will believe that this is just another step towards finally having the Swede back in action; a moment that can’t come too soon.

Tottenham need Kulusevski’s guile and creativity in the final third and if this fitness session before Saturday’s win takes him another step closer to immediate action, this weekend has just got even better for Spurs supporters.
