Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard believes Dejan Kulusevski has every chance to become a ‘top player’ at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gerrard’s Villa side hosted Tottenham at Villa Park on Saturday evening and he will have been left very frustrated.

Son Heung-min’s early goal set Tottenham on their way but Villa created chance after chance in the first Half with Hugo Lloris keeping them at bay.

Villa were made to pay for those missed chances when Kulusevski made it 2-0, and Tottenham accelerated away.

Son added two more to complete his hat-trick and secure Tottenham’s 4-0 victory, leaving Villa absolutely rocked.

Villa posted a higher xG than Tottenham yet somehow lost 4-0, with Gerrard no doubt cursing Tottenham’s quality in the final third.

We all know how good Son and Harry Kane are in front of goal, but this deadly duo is now becoming a terrifying trio.

Tottenham swooped to sign Kulusevski in January, pouncing on deadline day to bring the winger to North London.

Kulusevski had struggled for starts at Juventus but Fabio Paratici – the man who signed Kulusevski for Juventus – had faith in him.

Paratici snapped up Kulusevski on loan with a permanent option and Tottenham will surely be paying up for the winger this summer.

In just 11 Premier League games Kulusevski already has three goals and six assists, racking up goal contributions at a staggering rate.

Kulusevski’s creativity, guile and decision making are just so good whilst his natural left-footed nature has bene the ideal complement to Son and Kane.

At just 21, Kulusevski looks destined for stardom – and he’s now earning praise from Villa boss Gerrard.

Speaking to Football London, Gerrard highlighted that Tottenham have two ‘world class’ attackers in Son and Kane.

Gerrard added that Kulusevski could become a ‘top player’ too, seemingly seeing huge potential in him after a superb display at Villa Park.

“They’ve got two world class players up top and the young lad from Juventus who could certainly be a top player,” said Gerrard.
