Tottenham star conducts interview wearing Cristian Romero shirt, thinks he’s ‘incredible’

Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski is a big Cristian Romero fan having conducted an interview whilst wearing his teammate’s Argentina shirt.

We all knew Fabio Paratici would dip into the Italian market when he became the club’s new director of football last summer.

So far, you would have to say that Paratici has got it right with his recruits from Italy.

Pierluigi Gollini wasn’t much to write home about as a backup goalkeeper, but the signings of Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have been successful.

All four helped Tottenham return to the Champions League and you can expect more recruits from Italy down the line, with Ivan Perisic already joining from Inter Milan.

Two of those signings appear to be pretty close with Kulusevski clearly a huge fan of Romero.

Their careers have somewhat similar trajectories; both players arrived in Italy from clubs in their respective homelands.

After shining with perceivably smaller Serie A clubs, Juventus pounced to sign both players – Romero with Genoa, Kulusevski with Parma.

Juve were more than happy to let both players join Tottenham though, and even though they both count Atalanta and Juventus as their former clubs, they never actually played together in league action.

The only photo of them together at Juventus was from pre-season testing in 2020.

Their paths have finally crossed as teammates at Tottenham and it seems that Kulusevski is a huge fan.

Kulusevski has taken part in an interview with Anis Don Demina back in his native Sweden.

Kulusevski wears an Argentina shirt throughout the interview, a shirt with the number 13 on it – Romero’s shirt number for Argentina.

As quoted by Spurs Web, Kulusevski states that Romero is his new favourite player and that’s why he is wearing his shirt – even calling him ‘incredible’.

Tottenham fans would likely agree with Kulusevski on that verdict, and seeing Antonio Conte’s players so publicly support each other even outside of the season speaks to the happiness inside Spurs squad right now.
