Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon has told The London Evening Standard what Antonio Conte has said to him about his game.

Reguilon has praised Conte, who was appointed as the Tottenham manager last week.

The left-back, who cost Tottenham £32 million (Sky Sports), has told the Spurs fans how Conte wants him to play.

Reguilon has said that Conte wants him to be attacking and wants him to score goals.

The Spaniard told The London Evening Standard: “The gaffer is special. He loves training hard but now we don’t have a lot of time to work on the things he wants on the pitch. So we did a lot of meetings with videos this week.

“I’ve never played five at the back before. I have to learn quickly. The gaffer has told me he wants me to be solid in defence but at the same moment I have to arrive in the box, help the strikers, score goals, give assists. Now I have more of a chance to score goals and give assists. So let’s work.”

Exciting for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Conte is a very good manager who is balanced in his approach.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss wants a solid defence, but at the same time, he wants his teams to attack.

Reguilon, who joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, can play as a left-back or as a left wing-back.

If Conte plays with a back-three, then the 24-year-old will get more chances to go forward as a wing-back.

Reading the defender’s comments, it seems that he is excited to be playing in the way Conte wants him to.

Nuno’s football at Spurs was rather defensive, and Conte will change that.

Reguilon has not scored a single goal in 37 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far in his career.
