Tottenham Hotspur Danny Rose missed nine months of action with a knee injury. He returned to action against Real Madrid last month, and has made further two appearances.

The 27-year-old played against Crystal Palace last Sunday and it was his first league start since damaging a ligament in his left knee against Sunderland in January.

Rose was enjoying a great form for Spurs last season before suffering the injury. He said that it was a tormenting experience for him during this phase, as he went through a “whole load of emotions” over the past nine months.

The England left-back says that he has started to visit a psychologist to help him think positive. Rose adds that he felt he was “untouchable” and one of the best last season. However, the injury brought him back to earth.

Rose is now looking to re-establish himself as England’s first choice left back or wing back. However, with Ben Davies in fantastic form this season, it won’t be easy for Rose to regain the starting spot straightaway in the Spurs team.

“I have been impressed, jealous, angry — I have been through a whole load of emotions over the past nine months, not just the season,” said Rose, as quoted by The Times.

“This injury has been one of the most difficult periods of my life. Last season I was doing well, I felt untouchable, I felt like I was one of the best. I felt that if I carried on with that form, anything could have happened.

“Then the injury happened. It humbled me, it brought me back down to earth, it gave me a reality check. It just made me realise football can be taken away from you at any given point.”
