Joe Rodon has claimed that reported Newcastle United target Aaron Ramsey is a ‘top, top player’, as he told Sky Sports Football (11/10/21 at 7:20 pm).
The Tottenham defender has played with Ramsey up close and personal with Wales, so he will know what he is all about.
Ramsey has played in England for many years before, in Cardiff colours, but mainly known for his spell at Arsenal.
But the mega-rich Newcastle could possibly lure him away from his current home in Turin, where he is donning the colours of another club in Black and White – Juventus.
Italian outlet Il Bianconero claim that Newcastle are leading the race to sign the 30-year-old.
Ramsey has vast amounts of experience, both on the domestic circuit, in Europe and on the international stage, such a possible transfer wouldn’t be a surprise.
And even though he has had numerous injury problems during his career, which have carried on in Italy, Rodon still expressed his delight at playing alongside him.
“He is a top, top player,” said Rodon. “Everyone knows that. He creates things. He makes things happen for us.
“He is massive for us and we are delighted to have him here.”

On one hand, Ramsey is a big-name that does showcase Newcastle are at the start of a new era and he is the type of signing they can realistically go for.
But, on the other hand, he will probably command big wages for a player that might not be on the field long enough.
Newcastle can surely fish down other markets, for younger talents, who will serve them for longer periods.
AC Milan’s Franck Kessié is a prime example, six years younger than Ramsey, a box-to-box player like the Welshman, but with more bite and drive to his game.
