Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has named two teammates at the Premier League club who he feels have helped him become a better player.

The Colombia international moved to the North London outfit in the summer of 2017 for a reported £42million (BBC Sport), becoming Spurs’ record signing, and has clocked up 78 appearances in all competitions so far, according to Transfermarkt.

This weekend, Sanchez will be in contention to play in the Champions League final, with Premier League rivals Liverpool standing between Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham and the trophy in Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

The 22-year-old is then in line to feature for his nation at this summer’s Copa America in Brazil, having been called up by Carlos Queiroz to the provisional 40-man squad, all of which is testament to a fruitful career so far.

Sanchez is quoted by the Daily Record as saying: “At Tottenham, I have grown up so quickly and become a better player with World Cup winners like Hugo [Lloris] and [Fernando] Llorente around the club. They are huge players for their international teams as well and it is amazing.”

Goalkeeper Lloris captained France to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, earning a second star for Les Bleus, while forward Llorente was part of the Spain squad which triumphed at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
